Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Candidates must possess a valid mark sheet/degree certificate at the time of registration, indicating the percentage of marks obtained.
- Computer literacy is mandatory.
- Proficiency in the official language of the state/UT applied for (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) is required.
- Age Limit:
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 28 years (born between July 2, 1997, and July 1, 2005, both dates inclusive)
- Age relaxation applies as per government norms:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service + 3 years (up to 50 years max)
- Others as per IBPS regulations.
- Nationality:
- Citizen of India, or subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee settled in India before January 1, 1962, or person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with intent to settle permanently.
Selection Process
The IBPS Clerk 2025 selection process consists of two phases:
- Preliminary Exam (Qualifying):
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Sections:
- English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks (20 minutes)
- Numerical Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks (20 minutes)
- Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks (20 minutes)
- Total: 100 marks
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer
- Mains Exam (Final Merit):
- Duration: 120 minutes (revised from 160 minutes)
- Sections:
- General/Financial Awareness: 50 questions, 50 marks (35 minutes)
- General English: 40 questions, 40 marks (35 minutes)
- Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude: 50 questions, 60 marks (35 minutes)
- Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions, 50 marks (35 minutes)
- Total: 190 marks (revised from 200 marks, 155 questions)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the local language of the state/UT applied for.
- Document Verification: Final selection is based on Mains exam marks and verification of documents. No interview is conducted.

- Mains Exam Revision:
- Number of questions reduced from 190 to 155.
- Duration reduced from 160 to 120 minutes.
