The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2025. This national-level examination is being conducted for recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts such as Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operators (DEO) in various Ministries, Departments, and Offices under the Government of India.

    • LDC/JSA – Pay Level 2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200)
    • DEO – Pay Level 4 & 5 (₹25,500 – ₹92,300)

👤 Eligibility Criteria:
📌 Nationality:

A candidate must be either:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal/Bhutan

A person of Indian origin migrated from select countries (with eligibility certificate from Govt. of India)

🎓 Educational Qualification (as on 01.01.2026):
  • LDC/JSA/DEO (Except specific ministries): 12th Pass from a recognized Board
  • DEO in some departments (like Ministry of Consumer Affairs): 12th Pass in Science Stream with Mathematics
🎂 Age Limit:
  • 18 to 27 years (born between 01.1999 and 01.01.2008)
  • Age relaxation as per rules:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • PwBD: 10-15 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service
💻 Selection Process:

The recruitment will be held in two tiers (CBT) followed by a Skill/Typing Test.

✅ Tier-I (Objective Exam):
  • Subjects: English, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer
✅ Tier-II (Objective + Skill Test):
  • Sections: Reasoning, Maths, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge
  • Skill/Typing Test:
    • For DEO: 8000–15000 key depressions/hour
    • For LDC/JSA: Typing speed of 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi
